  • ごちゃごちゃした問題や紛争を，一定の場所に落ち着かせるというニュアンスのイメージ。
  • I find it out of my power to settle the problem in a week.
• 自動詞としての用法もある。「解決する」(with/for)
  • The company settled with the family for $500,000-. (会社は50万ドルでその家族と和解した。)
